| Job Responsibilities: The volunteer will be expected to attend a one-day training : Thursday, November 1, 2007 or Friday, November 2, 2007. The Topics will be as follows: ¨ Friends for Life Program; ¨ BE-A-LINK!® program; ¨ Why Address Suicide?; ¨ Understanding Suicide; ¨ Action Steps; ¨ Protective Factors; ¨ Origin and purpose of Yellow Ribbon Intl. ; ¨ Identification of community resources; ¨ Identification and establishment of a community support team; ¨ Identification of cultural influences; ¨ Presentation and trainings preparation; and ¨ Program continuity and sustainability. The volunteer will be trained to present for Friends for Life the Yellow Ribbon's BE-A-LINK!® program to adults and children. Job Qualifications: The volunteer must first complete a volunteer application and will be required to undergo a background check to determine there are no previous felony convictions. The volunteer also must have dependable transportation. The volunteer must be able to work on a team and be able to speak in front of a groups of people. Bilingual, multi-lingual and sign language capabilities are pluses. Leadership: The volunteer will be assigned to a Team Leader and will report to that Team Leader. Time Commitment: The time commitment required is three presentations per year when the volunteer will either be required to speak or assist in the presentation. Support: Friends for Life staff and Team Leaders will provide support. Volunteers always will present in a team of two to three persons.
